(Health Outreach to the Middle East) where the team will provide medical attention to several of the H.O.M.E. supported clinics and hospitals in the designated country. Team members will also have the opportunity to take part in the annual H.O.M.E. Middle East Summit.

The team will go to Central Java to help restore a seminary for those who have felt the call to ministry. This is one of the larger Baptist Seminaries in S.E. Asia and over the years has experienced the difficulties of not having the funding and upkeep that it needs. The team will join a group from the Atlanta area in doing construction, painting, and various other tasks. Join us in supporting the mission of reaching Indonesia through it’s people and giving them a place to study the Word of God so they can share with their homeland.
India Trip with As Our Own

Serving with one of Houston's First's partnering ministries, As Our Own, the trip opportunities will include time spent in Grace Home in which there are 38 girls with ages ranging from 5-20. The team will spend time in worship, teaching, small groups, and games and crafts. There will also be an opportunity of discipleship and teaching of the staff at Grace Home. The team will serve in several opportunities. Missionary encouragement and prayer trekking among a Tibetan Buddhist unreached people group in the Sichuan Mountains, orphanage and/or ESL ministry in the capital city, and teaching at a House Church leader Bible training in the capital city.

The kingdom of God is advancing rapidly in East Asia. This nine-day trip is focused on relational evangelism with students and young professionals in a city of more than 5 million. The team will engage with students relationally through teaching English in the evenings, then build on those relationships and share the gospel through outside activities such as eating meals and participating in local events.

Indonesia (South Sumatra and West Timor)
Date: Jun 16-Jul 1
We will be working with a local church helping their church plant and an orphanage. We will spend a week in Sumatra doing a revival and family education seminars. The second week of the trip we will in West Timor working at an orphanage helping build a building, maybe helping them in using their 5 acres of land for agriculture planning and doing some training seminars with different ministries on the island. Also hang out with the children and visit refugee camps doing VBS activities.

Indonesia Vision/ Training Trip (Jakarta)
Date: May 28-Jun 10, 2010
The team will be seeking a vision on how Houston's First can better partner with local churches in the area. We will also be providing training for pastors, Sunday school training, and possibly doing VBS with refugee children on Kapung. This is a trip that will require some flexibility as we continue to work out the details. The goal is to work with children and churches in education and evangelism.
Lebanon & Syria Trip
Date: Jun 15-26, 2010
The Medical First Network of Houston's First is partnering with H.O.M.E. (Health Outreach to the Middle East) where the team will provide medical attention to Iraqi war refugees in one of the poorest villages in Syria at a H.O.M.E. supported clinic. They will also travel to several poor villages in Lebanon via the H.O.M.E. Mobile Clinic in administering medical aid. Team members will also have the opportunity to take part in the annual H.O.M.E. Middle East Summit. In addition, team members will visit several Biblical sites including the road to Damascus where Paul received the vision, and the ancient Biblical cities of Lebanon including Tyre and Sidon, as well as Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle of turning water into wine. Medical skills are needed but are not a requirement. Arabic or French speaking skills is a plus but translators will be available.
Singles East Asia Trip

Focus: Teaching English & relational evangelism
The team worked in East Asia at the foothills of Tibet plateau where we have partnered with a local English teaching organization to teach English to the high school and University students. The team used the English teaching sessions as a platform to build genuine relationships with the students the team encountered to share the Gospel and love of Jesus through relational evangelism.

Philippines Trip (Manila & Quezon City)

David Stockwell Evangelistic Association (DSEA), in partnership with Houston's First Baptist Church, will host an evangelistic mission campaign. Team members will have the opportunity to speak to thousands of students in the Metro-Manila area about drug and alcohol abuse, AIDS awareness, abstinence, and other social and moral issues. Team members will also have opportunity to minister in local churches and prisons, as well as participate in an Evangelism Training Conference with local pastors.
