Helene & Alicia met at Houston Project in 2011. Alicia's daughter & friends encouraged her to go to the Houston Project site happening at her apartment complex. Helene's husband had just passed away, but she was helping lead the women's bible study at the same site.

The two built a friendship that lasted well after Houston Project was over, sharing their hurts & caring for each other. As their relationship developed, they came to Houston's First together and Helena was able to lead Alicia to Christ.
