After the death of their son, missionaries Nik and Ruth Ripken journey into the depths of the persecuted church, asking the question: IS JESUS WORTH IT? “The Insanity of God” tells their story of being taught by believers in persecution “how to follow Jesus, how to love Jesus, and how to walk with Him day by day even when it doesn't make sense.”
The spring semester of MidLink at The Loop Campus begins on Wed, Jan 18, with a free showing of "The Insanity of God" in the Worship Center at 6:30p. So, come early for dinner at MidLink Cafe (4:45-6:15p) and take your kids (birth-5th grade) to NextGen programming while your 6th-12th graders come to the movie with you.
The following Wed, Jan 25, at the MidLink/Milestones Preview Night, we'll gather in the Chapel for an interview with Benjamin Lee, currently serving in China, about “ministry in dark places" — much like what the Ripkens encountered on their journey.
For now, here's the official trailer for "The Insanity of God" coming Wed, Jan 18, to The Loop:
"I encourage you to go to the theater and watch this film. It will change your perspective on what it means to follow Jesus, and your life will be changed."
— David Platt, President of the International Mission Board
If you truly want to understand what it takes to follow Christ no matter the circumstance, then watch this movie. It will change your life and it will change your church for the sake of the Gospel."
— Dr. Thom Rainer, President LifeWay Christian Resources
"There is a long heritage of stories of missionaries and martyrs. This film reminds us of the realities of Christians following Jesus and losing their lives in the process. When we engage these real life stories, we are provoked to action in love and good deeds. Don't miss "The Insanity of God"!"
— Dr. Ed Stetzer, Executive Director of the Billy Graham Center for Evangelism, Wheaton College
