Faith Center

The Faith Center (formerly known as the Missions Training Center) of HFBC now has two locations!

Food Pantry and Clothes Closet are still at 8244 Long Point Rd.
Offices and other services of the Faith Center are located at 8009 Long Point Rd.

Faith Center Ministries & Serving Opportunities

Food Pantry & Clothes Closet

Open daily (except Fri & Sun), 10 am–2 pm

Nearly $54,000 (plus donated food) used annually to feed approximately 400 families & 1300 people per month. Witnessing volunteers and client helpers needed.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Tue & Thu, 9:30–11:30 am & 7:00–9:00 pm

Classes begin every Aug and follow the Spring Branch ISD Academic Calendar. Instructors needed—do not have to speak another language.

Computer Training

Held in conjunction with ESL. Instructors needed.

Kids Club

Every Thu during school year, 3–4:15 pm

After-school Tutoring

Mon & Tue during school year, 3–4:30 pm

Summer Lunch Program

Every Mon–Thu, Jun 7–Aug 12, 2010 @ 10:30 am–12:30 pm

Free lunch, games, and Bible study for children in community. Volunteers needed.

Saturday Service Day

Any time from 8:30 am–12:30 pm

Help maintain and repair needs of Faith Center.

Faith Center Computer Ministry

Provides computer-related resources & support to individuals, Christ-centered missions & non-profit organizations. Volunteer supported and more are welcome. Contact fccm@HoustonsFirst.org or 713.554.8805 for more information.

Serving the children and families of our Mission Churches. Volunteers needed for witnessing, gift-wrapping, registration, gathering and sorting gifts, set up, and breakdown.

Local Missions Offering

The local missions offering is funded weekly by offerings over and above tithes to the budget. $200,000 is required annually. Please give regularly (See church offering envelope).

Did You Know?

The Local Missions offering also helps:

Serve 44 Ministry Sites—starting new churches, assisting transitioning in churches, and developing preaching points.
Coordinate Five Mission Centers—serving multiple-ethnic churches, Food Pantry, clothes and furniture distribution, teaching English, Kid’s Club, and providing assistance.
Provide office space at the Faith Center for probation officers to see people who live in the neighborhood. After meeting with officers, guests are ministered to by volunteers and given an opportunity to hear the Good News and receive an invitation to church.
