Faith Center Ministries & Serving Opportunities

If you are seeking to volunteer individually or with your SBS class, fill out the Get Involved Form and we'll get you plugged in!


  • Food Pantry & Clothes Closet

    Open daily (except Fri & Sun) @ 10 am-2 pm

    What: Nearly $54,000 (plus donated food) used annually to feed approximately 400 families and 1300 people per month.


    How Can I Serve?

    Volunteer areas include computer check-in, witnessing, sorting clothes, preparing bags of food, and assisting guests with shopping. Spanish-speakers are especially needed, but this is not a requirement. Donations are welcome (tax-deductible) during operating hours.

    Each Sunday Bible Study is assigned a food item to donate on the first Sunday of each month. Click here for more information.

  • English as a Second Language (ESL)

    Every Tue & Thu @ 9:30-11:30 am & 7-9 pm

    What: A variety of class levels begin every August and follow the Spring Branch ISD Academic Calendar.


    How can I serve?

    Instructors and assistants needed. You do not need to know another language, or even have previous experience.

  • Computer Training

    Held in conjunction with ESL. Instructors needed.

    What: Basic Computer literacy classes for all ages.


    How can I serve?

    Instructors needed. A basic knowledge of how to operate a computer is all that is required.

  • Bible Study Teachers and Assistants, Nursery-12th Grade

    Every Wed @ 6:45-8 pm; Every Sun 9:30-10:45 am & 10:45 am-Noon

    What: Assist our Mission Churches as they teach the Word of God to a new generation.


    How can I serve?

    Bible Study Teachers and Helpers needed. Age Appropriate curriculum provided.

  • Kids Club apartment ministry

    Every Saturday Morning from 9am-Noon

    What: A backyard bible club environment for children living in the Oak Forest Apartment Complex. Children are taught a bible story, play games, do a craft and receive a snack at the end. We are blessed to have our own Kid’s Club apartment to do ministry out of. Schedule follows the Spring Branch ISD school calendar.


    How can I serve?

    Volunteers, both individuals and groups, needed to volunteer. So that relationships with the children can build, it would be preferred that groups would commit to an amount of time (at least one Saturday a month) for a specific period of time (Spring, Fall, Year, etc), but this is not required.

  • Kids Club Summer Lunch Program

    Every June-August, weekdays

    What: Free lunch, games, and Bible study for children in community.


    How can I serve?

    Both individual and group volunteers needed to help assist in games, bible stories, lunch, etc.

  • Saturday Service Day

    Every Sat @ 8:30 am-12:30 pm

    What: Help maintain and repair needs of Faith Center.


    How can I serve

    Individuals or groups can contact us to see what needs we currently have are and schedule a Saturday to serve.

  • Faith Center Computer Ministry

    What: Provides computer-related resources & support to individuals, Christ-centered missions & non-profit organizations. Volunteer supported and more are welcome.


    How can I serve?

    This group meets weekly and does everything from rebuilding old systems to accepting donations to computer related recycling projects.

  • Christmas Store

    First Sat in Dec

    What: This gift giveaway is focused on equipping our mission churches in reaching out to their communities with the Gospel.


    How can I serve?

    Volunteers are needed in many areas, including witnessing, gift wrapping, registration, gathering and sorting gifts, set up, breakdown, and lots of pre-Christmas Store work.

  • Bilingual Counseling

    Various Times

    For children & adults-please call for an appointment.

  • Van Drivers

    Wed & Fri Night, Sun Morning

    What: Pick up children and individuals for various Faith Center and Mission Church activities.


    How can I serve?

    To become a van driver, you must be at least 25 years old

  • Multi-cultural Church Services

    Various Times

    Laotian Congregation: First Baptist Lao Mission Church-Pastor Paul Phothisane

    How can I serve?

    If you have never experienced a service in another language, or have a heart for one of the people groups listed, join in worship and bible study and find ways you may be able to help these churches grow the Kingdom.

  • Concrete Christians

    Every Thu @ 6:30 pm

    What: Seeks to meet the needs of disadvantaged individuals suffering from loneliness, homelessness, substance abuse, and insufficient resources for basic life needs. Outdoor parking lot program includes worship service, bible teaching and dinner.

    Volunteers needed to minister to guests and help with program setup and breakdown./p>

  • Faith Children’s Center

    Monday-Friday, 7am-6pm

    What: Fully stated licensed, affordable daycare center. NCI-accepted. Accepts children ages 6 weeks-11 years old.

  • First Hope Job Ministry

    Various Times

    What: Come to learn job seeking strategies and practical resume tips, and to find networking opportunities as well as biblical encouragement.

Now you can help support the Faith Center through your grocery shopping! We are currently registered with Randall's so that a portion of your grocery purchases are donated to the Faith Center.


For Kroger, print this form and hand it to the cashier at your next purchase. The Neighbor to Neighbor Program accumulation is Jul 1, 2011 - Apr 30, 2012.


For Randall's, take your Randall's Remarkable Card to the Customer Service Desk and ask them to link your card to the Good Neighbor Program Number 10444.


Local Missions Offering

The local missions offering is funded weekly by offerings over and above tithes to the budget. $200,000 is required annually. Please give regularly (See church offering envelope).

The Local Missions offering also helps:


  • Serve 44 Ministry Sites - Starting new churches, assisting transitioning in churches, and developing preaching points.
  • Coordinate Five Mission Centers - Serving multiple-ethnic churches, Food Pantry & Clothes Closet, teaching English, Kid's Club, and providing assistance.
  • Office Space - Providing office space at the Faith Center for probation officers to see people who live in the neighborhood. After meeting with officers, guests are ministered to by volunteers and given an opportunity to hear the Good News and receive an invitation to church.
