Student Minister

I am grateful to have led The HUB Student Ministries at Houston’s First Sienna Campus since 2014. It is not far-fetched to say that I literally grew up in church: I professed my faith in Christ at the age of seven and soon followed that decision up with believer’s baptism at Fall Creek Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. My dad served as my Senior Pastor into my Middle School years, and during that time I was often running around the church during the week and getting into trouble.

As a junior in high school, the Lord called me to full-time Christian ministry during a youth conference in Dayton, Ohio while Dr. Ergun Caner was preaching. I later attended North Greenville University on a football scholarship and in my senior year we won the Christian College National Championship. I met my bride, Melissa, at North Greenville University and we were married in 2011.

Following college, we began our journey in Lynchburg, Virginia, where I attended seminary at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, which is part of Liberty University. In 2015, I received a Master’s degree in Religious Education after completing a portion of my coursework in Liberty’s Online Program.

Prior to coming to Houston’s First in 2014, God led me to serve as Student Minister at Northside Baptist Church in Newark, Ohio, as well as Minister to Students and College at First Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia.

Within student ministry, I have found my greatest passions to be teaching God’s Word, athletic ministry, specifically ministry to the local football teams, and small group discipleship. It is my calling to lead a multiplying student ministry by bringing students to Jesus — who are bringing students to Jesus.

In my personal time, I love watching, coaching, and even still playing football. I am a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes fan! I also enjoy graphic design, playing music, and traveling. Most of all, I adore quality time with Melissa and our two incredible kids, Annie who was born in 2012, and Judson, who was born in 2014.
