Steve received a Master of Science degree in Counseling from The University of Houston- Clear Lake. He is recognized by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors as a Licensed Professional Counselor. His formal education has trained him to work with individuals, couples, families, and groups. Steve has counseled and led counseling-related groups in a public school setting since 2007. Prior to that he completed his counseling practicum at Pasadena Independent School District at Kruse Elementary where he led adolescent sessions and worked with families. Steve has been employed as a teacher, coach and counselor for the past 28 years. Steve believes that the Bible is our standard and if true change is to occur in our lives we must know what God’s standards are and align ourselves with those standards. He uses an eclectic approach to treatment primarily using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused, and Family Systems Treatment modes. Steve works with clients to establish goals and a treatment plan that is consistent with Biblical truth and moves the client towards self-realization and personal growth.
