Formerly known as Parents' Night Out
Life is busy and schedules can quickly get away from us. Before we know it, it's been weeks -- or months -- since we've spent quality one-on-one time with our spouse. Then, if we do find a moment to spend together, we often experience the classic, "What do you want do?" "I don't know, what do you want to do?" conversation.
So, the Married Young Adult ministry wants to help couples be intentional about spending time with each other -- you know, on an actual date. We can even help get the conversation started so you don't drift off into familiar topics that you've talked about countless times before.
Here are three ways we can help make date nights with your spouse a reality -- and, you don’t have to have kids or even be a member of Houston's First to participate!
RECREATE DATE NIGHT
You decide where you're going to eat. We'll provide a kit with discussion questions, games and goodies. On your date, see how God uses the kit to inspire conversations, share your dreams and goals, talk about issues you're facing, and more. Before long, you'll just be talking -- and you won't even need our help! You'll pick up the kits at the Preschool Suite desk at the church or find them online (without the goodies, of course).

BIG NIGHT OUT
On occasional Recreate Date Nights, young married couples can head back to the church after they go to dinner and experience Big Night Out -- an informal gathering with dessert, fun and a brief message to encourage you in your marriage. The first Big Night Out takes place on Fri, Aug 24, 2012 -- so mark your calendars now!
CHILDCARE
Safe, fun, and inexpensive childcare is available at the church for couples who need it during a date night event. Childcare is provided by the Preschool & Kindergarten Ministry and Children’s Ministry of Houston’s First. Parents must pre-register their children online to participate. (Registration opens approximately one month before the event.) On the night of the event, children birth–Kindergarten should check-in at the Preschool Suite. Kids in the 1st-5th grades should check-in at the Fitness & Recreation Center front desk.
