The last few days have been fantastic! We have seen God do some great things as we have started working with our ministry sites. Our students have really enjoyed our evening worship times. Jerrell Altic spoke on Monday and Tom Hufty (Zac's dad) spoke last night.
Before we left we asked one of our students to write something about RushWeek that we could post on here, so here is a message from Joy Lazarus (just completed 10th grade):
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life
for one’s friends.” - John 15:13
Perfect love? How can that be? I often find myself marveling at our Lord's
sovereign love. His is so true, authentic, and freely given; the polar opposite
of my selfish tendencies. I love with my heart, while He loved with His Son.
I'm praying that during Rushweek we will be able to love others like He has
loved us. What greater way can we show Jesus' grace by being examples of His
glory? I hope that during Rushweek, and for the rest of our lives, we will live
for Him and not for ourselves. This week will be a stepping stone for new
comers and believers to embrace and seek our Lord's perfection. I anticipate
that the Holy Spirit will work in our hearts to rekindle our need for Christ.
The Lord works in marvelous ways, and I have no doubt that He will change each
of our lives.
“We love because he first loved us.” - 1 John 4:19
“But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which
we hope.” - Galatians 5:5...
