Support groups are a non-fee based service and are led by lay people of the church who feel called to minister in this area.


Separation or Divorce

DivorceCare

Under the direction of Danny & Cindy Davis

A special help seminar and on-going support group for people experiencing divorce and separation. DivorceCare features a twelve-week video series with nationally recognized experts on divorce and recovery topics. Seminar sessions include Facing Your Anger, Facing Your Loneliness, Depression, New Relationships, KidCare and Forgiveness.

Grief Recovery

GriefShare

A 13-week video series featuring Christian experts and an interactive group sharing time for those who have lost a loved one. At each session, a video is shown concerning an issue related to grief and loss. These videos feature top experts on a wide variety of subjects important to the grief recovery process. After the video, attendees become part of a small support group to discuss what was viewed and what is going on in their own lives.

Overcoming Homosexuality

Uplift

A support group encouraging friends and family members of loved ones struggling with homosexuaity. In monthly meetings, members are able to share burdens and concerns in a safe place, with others in similar situations. Call Michael Newman at 713.782.7084 for meeting time and place.


Barnabas

A group for men struggling with same-sex attractions and desiring to find freedom through personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This group meets weekly. To maintain confidentiality, anyone interested can contact Michael Newman at 713.782.7084.

Celebrate Recovery 12 Step Study Meeting

This is a more personal and intensive extension of the Thursday night meeting. In the 12 Step Study you will have the opportunity to work through the Celebrate Recovery workbooks in a same sex small group and journey together down the road to freedom from the hurts, habits, and hangups that have kept you in bondage. It is a great complementary meeting to Thursday nights and provides better opportunities to grow in relationships.

General Support Group

Mid Week Pit Stop

This group meets each week to share the battles that each person is facing and try to gain insight to how to move through the difficult times of life. The group covers different topics ranging from depression to spiritual struggles to boundaries. New study starting September 22, 2010 "Anger is a Choice" written by Tim LaHaye and Bob Phillips.

The Pit Stop

First HOPE Job Ministry

Receive help from a Christian, professional human resources consultant. Learn how to market yourself to potential employers and how to hold on to God’s peace through this time of transition through weekly Bible devotionals held at our HOPE meetings.
