What is the Single Parent Family Ministry?

The Single Parent Family Ministry of Houston's First provides an environment for you and your family to grow spiritually in your walk with the Lord. A central part of why we meet is to provide a support system and healthy environment for people facing common situations and hurdles. It is a safe place where you can know and be known, serve and be served, love and be loved, celebrate and be celebrated!

What to expect…

Whether you see yourself first a single or first as a parent…or just don’t know where you fit…we have a place for you! You will be embraced and brought into a community and loved like family! Choose from one of two Single Parent Life Bible Study classes listed below in the Growing Our Souls section.

Sundays

Anchor — For single parents in their 20s, 30s, and early 40s
Every Sun @ 9:15–10:30a — The Loop (Rm 292)

Fortified – For single adults with children
Every Sun @ 9:15–10:30a — The Loop (Rm 290)

Volunteer

Single Parent Family Prayer Team — Commit to pray for the Single Parent Family Ministry through quarterly online gatherings.

Single Parent Family Large Events Team — Serve alongside staff and lay leaders in planning and preparation for major ministry events for single parent families.

Single Parent Family Volunteer Team — Serving and engaging with single parent families at large events (Single Parent Family Camp, Mother's Day Luncheon, Father's Day Luncheon, School Supply Assistance and Christmas Gift Assistance).

Single Parent Family Mentor Couples — Serve parents by coming alongside them in different settings. Option to serve monthly one-on-one or weekly in Life Bible Study by being available to the group as needed.
