Ministry Site Track — Partner with smaller local churches to reach their communities through VBS and other activities and to advocate for what they provide people year-round.
Neighborhood Track — Host a block party, a cookout, a backyard movie night or your own way of being intentional about connecting with people God has placed around you.
Our win for the Ministry Site Track is to equip local churches and leaders with the tools they need to minister to the people God brings them. In the past, Houston’s First led VBS and other activities for churches. Now, we want to serve alongside them and equip them to lead on their own.
If you’ve ever served at a Houston 1:8 ministry site, this year will look like what you’ve done before. Local church leaders will join in on the planning phase with our missionaries and be encouraged to lead during the week as much as possible — equipping them to grow their ministry.
Deadline to register and fill out your background check is by end of day June 25th.

The Tidwell and North-Central area of Houston was a severe flood zone caused during Hurricane Harvey. Pastor Jaime Garcia and their team at Bethel Baptist have been reaching out to the community ever since. With a gymnasium full of supplies and donations and their Sunday school rooms filled with out of town teams for relief work, Bethel Baptist has committed to bring restoration and renewal to the whole the area for the Kingdom of God to be established. Our aim this week is for our Family:Serve First Kids Team to partner with them in this effort and coming along side their people and staff to empower and encourage.

If you are interested in international missions, you need look no further than Houston.

We have needs for help in all of these areas as well as Evangelism, Prayer, and serving Food.

Park Temple Baptist is a church located north of Downtown inside the Loop. We will be working alongside this church to do outreach to their community through putting on a Vacation Bible School. Ministry Opportunities:
This site hosts a sports camp at Spring Woods High School for kids ages 5-18. We use sports as an opportunity to build one on one relationships with the kids that live in the area with the hope of sharing God's love with them. We are able to use the indoor and outdoor facilities at the school to coach football, basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball and dance. You don't even have to be good at sports to help out at this site. We hope you will join us at Spring Woods!

Our win for the Neighborhood Track is to equip and encourage Houston’s First members to share the love and truth of Jesus in their neighborhoods. Rather than going to a ministry site, you will stay and minister to the people God has placed around you. Find out how many other Houston's First members might live in your same neighborhood and join them for outreach to your community!
Whether you host a block party, a cookout, a backyard movie night or your own idea, be intentional about connecting with people God has placed around you!
