Josephine is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She has a Master of Education in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in World Cultures and Literatures, with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies, from the University of Houston. She enjoys working with adults of all ages, groups, and couples and marriages.
She has experience as a mental health therapist in a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), with adults of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. She has experience in providing CBT-based mental health coaching for adults with serious mental and behavioral health difficulties. Her additional clinical experiences include group therapies for adult female survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence.
Josephine strives to build a genuine and trusted relationship with the client. She primarily goes by the cognitive-behavioral approach to therapy, in which the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interrelated, and incorporates other therapies such as person-centered therapy and solution-focused brief therapy as needed, with a biblical perspective. She works together with the client to reach greater life outcomes, in healing and restoration, finding meaning and purpose that God has planned for every individual.
