Sophia Hak is a Christian counselor with experience working with adolescents, individuals, and couples. She worked in the Oil & Gas sector for ~8 years using her Corporate Communications degree and ventured into a start-up event planning business specializing in corporate events and weddings. Having matriculated at Dallas Theological Seminary, in 2015, she is working towards her Master’s in Biblical Counseling, a program that provides comprehensive preparation and training to practice effectively in both Christian and public mental health settings meeting Texas state licensure requirements.
Sophia explores a variety of counseling methods and techniques to guide individuals, couples, and families towards facilitating change, growth and walking alongside the client as he or she experiences greater freedom. Her training in theology, bible exposition and a significant degree of biblical relevant counseling paired with the clinical advances of contemporary psychotherapy provides the opportunity for individuals to know they are worthy, that they belong, and are unique. As a therapist – empathy and compassion are important. She aims to rejoice with those rejoicing and mourn with those mourning (Romans 12:15). She values mutual trust and respect. Sophia gravitates towards integrating different theories and various techniques depending on each client’s goals.
