Intersections: A Mentoring Conference (CANCELLED)

Campus-wide, Young Single Adults, Men, Women

Begins in 12 days 15 hrs 32 min

Dear Prospective & Current Mentors/Mentees,

As we have journeyed over the past year in the mentoring ministry at Houston’s First, we have had two significant leaders of the ministry step down for family reasons (job relocation). As we sought to rebuild the mentoring team we realized that having a conference this year would really be getting ahead of where we are on building the team for the future. So, we have made a prayerful decision to postpone our Intersections Mentoring conference to 2020, while we focus on rebuilding a strong, diverse team of men and women to champion mentoring into the future.

So, what does this mean for you and the 2019 Intersections Mentoring event:

  1. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you, but we are confident God is in the midst of this season of renewal. Obviously mentoring is on your heart and we know it is on God’s heart too. So please be patient/
  2. For those of you that have already registered for the Intersections mentoring event, you will be refunded the entire amount you paid at registration.
  3. IF you are interested in OR part of the Single Parent Family mentoring ministry, we have great news for you. Holly Crain, our Single Parent Families Ministry Associate, will be doing a training time for SPF mentors on Saturday, March 2, from 9a-11:30a. Eric Reed will be our keynote and the morning will include breakfast, hearing from current SPF mentors along with continued education and encouragement. This day is designed for those that are current and new SPF mentors.
  4. We will keep you informed of developments in the Intersections Mentoring Ministries as we begin moving forward.

If you have any questions regarding mentoring at Houston’s First, or the Intersections Conference, please contact Julianne Kho at or 713-957-7681.

Again, thanks for your understanding and support. We are all on this journey together!

Eric Reed - Minister to Men & Assistant to the Minister of Education,
Carolyn O’Neal - Director of Women’s Ministry, &
Holly Crain - Single Parent Families Ministries Associate
