Pastor Gregg Matte and the Houston's First family invite you to come celebrate Easter at The Loop, Cypress, Downtown, Español, or Sienna Campus as we remember Christ's sacrifice at Broken For You services (Thu, Apr 18) and rejoice over His resurrection on Easter weekend (Apr 20-21).
(Don't be confused by the "Mar 20, 2019" date under the title in the header of this page. That's just the date this blog post was posted. We're definitely celebrating Easter on Easter weekend — Apr 20-21!)
The Thursday before Easter is known as "Maundy Thursday." The term "maundy" is a shortened form of mandatum — the Latin word for "command." It was on this day — the evening before Jesus' crucifixion — that He gathered with His disciples for their last supper together. There, He washed their feet and gave them this commandment:
"I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another." — John 13:34
The Houston's First family will remember Jesus' sacrifice at our Broken For You services on Thu, Apr 18, as we gather in praise, prayer, and preparation for Easter. We will also observe the Lord's Supper that evening.
Visit the respective campus pages below for additional information about Broken For You services at each location:
He is risen! Celebrate Christ's resurrection with the Houston's First family at one of our five campuses on Easter Weekend, with Pastor Gregg Matte speaking at each worship service. Click each campus to find additional details about that location's plans — including what's available for children.
SAT, APR 20
SUN, APR 21
We look forward to welcoming our many guests on Easter Sunday — especially the littlest ones! Members of Houston's First are invited to make a difference that day by serving as a NextGen Ministry volunteer. You can attend one worship service and serve at the other so families can attend a service while their children are cared for.
To volunteer, complete this short registration form and a NextGen Ministry team member will contact you with more information.
