Hurricane Ida Relief

Aug 30, 2021

UPDATED: Wed, Sep 8 @ 1:30p

Houston's First has weathered many hurricanes over the years — including direct hits, near misses, and distant disasters far from home. As with previous storms, we are ready to provide help to those in the path of Hurricane Ida.

Staff members at the church are in touch with our contacts in the impacted area — as well as other relief organizations — to discern where we can best be of assistance. Due to power outages throughout the region there, communications have been limited so information has been slow to come in.

Continue to watch this page for updates, and follow Houston's First on social media for timely information, as well.

Keep our neighbors to the east and those who have evacuated to our city in your prayers. May the God of comfort be with them each moment, and may they experience the love of Christ as believers rise up to serve them in His name.

Send Relief

Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Houston's First family, we were able to immediately send $20,000 to Send Relief to support their efforts in the impacted area on the Gulf Coast. Send Relief is a collaboration between the International Mission Board and North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

New York City Church Partners

Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Houston's First family, we have sent $30,000 to our church partners in New York City so they can provide relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida as the storm continued across the US and up the East Coast.
