Becky is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern supervised by Greg Curnutte, MAMFC, LPC-S. She received her Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling at Dallas Theological Seminary and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin.
She loves working with people in all walks of life: individuals, adolescents, children, couples and families and thus, uses an eclectic approach to counseling. This includes, but is not limited to Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Adlerian Therapy with a biblical perspective.
She considers it a huge privilege to walk with individuals and listen to their stories - meeting them where they are, building trust, exploring their world, and working together as a team to heal and grow. To do this, she uses techniques such as active listening, empathy, genuineness, as well as open questions, imagery, cognitive reframing, and if the individual desires, Scripture and prayer.
She is also currently Restoration Therapy Level 1 trained as well as in the process of being EMDR trained and is a member of the American Counseling Association. She believes each person has their own story to tell and will do her best to provide a safe environment that ensures the client feels comfortable as they take a step in courage to come into counseling.
