The Thursday before Easter is known as "Maundy Thursday." The term "maundy" is a shortened form of mandatum — the Latin word for "command." It was on this day — the evening before Jesus' crucifixion — that He gathered with His disciples for their last supper together. There, He washed their feet and gave them this commandment:
"I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another." — John 13:34
The Houston's First family from the Español Campus will remember Jesus' sacrifice at our Broken For You service on Thu, Mar 29, as we gather in praise, prayer, and preparation for Easter. The evening will include observance of the Lord's Supper.
