The question is When? … not If?
We have been placed by God in the Gulf Coast region and with that comes the reality of hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding and more. The last several years, we have seen hundreds of thousands of families affected by these events. As men of God, we are called to be differencemakers for the Kingdom of God by walking in truth and love regardless of the circumstances of life.
One of the great opportunities we know will have over the next several years is being the hands and feet of Christ to those who have experienced the loss of property, health, and life in the midst of a natural disaster. As a church seeking to advance the Gospel, we are compelled to be sure we are best equipped and empowered to serve our area (and other areas if needed) WHEN the next disaster strikes.
In that spirit we are calling as many men and women as possible to begin the process of Disaster Relief Training on Saturday November 18th we will be working with Texas Baptist Men from 8:30a – 3p (lunch will be provided) to deliver an orientation and training in different areas. The mission of Texas Baptist Men is to assist Texas Baptist Churches as they lead men into a "Love" relationship with Jesus Christ that will thrust them and their families into a lifestyle of missions and ministry that fulfills the Great Commission. This training is $20 per a person.
Starting at 8:30a, Texas Baptist Men will lead the “Yellow Cap Orientation” that is a prerequisite to all specialty training in the Disaster Relief ministry. This training is the basic disaster relief training course and is required of all volunteers.
After lunch, you will have the option of selecting between 4 different electives for additional training. They are listed below:
