Houston's First family members from The Loop Campus serving as Houston 1:8 missionaries can choose from one of two options for the week — Ministry Site Track or Neighborhood Track.
To fully register for Houston 1:8, you must:
Ministry Site Track — Partner with local church leaders at locations around Houston as we host VBS, youth events, adult Bible studies and other activities throughout the week.
Neighborhood Track — Reach out to your neighbors, make connections, and share the Good News.
Our win for the Ministry Site Track is to equip local churches and leaders with the tools they need to minister to the people God brings them. In the past, Houston’s First led VBS and other activities for churches. Now, we want to serve alongside them and equip them to lead on their own.
If you’ve ever served at a Houston 1:8 ministry site, this year will look like what you’ve done before. Local church leaders will join in on the planning phase with our missionaries and be encouraged to lead during the week as much as possible — equipping them to grow their ministry.
Find the ministry site where you want to serve and register at the link provided. You may want to choose a site along with your Life Bible Study, or one that you can get to easily from work or home each evening. Space at some ministry sites is limited, so register soon before they fill up!

Ministry Opportunites:
Spring Woods
2045 Gessner, Houston, TX 77080
This site hosts a sports camp at Spring Woods High School for kids ages 5-18. We use sports as an opportunity to build one on one relationships with the kids that live in the area with the hope of sharing God's love with them. We are able to use the indoor and outdoor facilities at the school to coach football, basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball and dance. You don't even have to be good at sports to help out at this site. We hope you will join us at Spring Woods!
Ministry Opportunities:
Star of Hope (Family Shelter)
419 Dowling St., Houston, TX 77003
The Star of Hope Houston 1:8 site started after a group of couples at Houston’s First realized the need for long-term ministry with these families who are in need. As a result, the ministry has continued throughout the year. Each of the four nights, a group will go to the family shelter and provide snacks, lead a bible study for the women, and play games with the kids. Space for this site is very limited, so sign up early!
Ministry Opportunities:
Our win for the Neighborhood Track is to equip and encourage Houston’s First members to share the love and truth of Jesus in their neighborhoods. Rather than going to a ministry site, you will stay and minister to the people God has placed around you.
Cost: $15 per Household (includes t-shirts and resource pack)
Your Neighborhood
Throughout our city
Resource packet will be made available to each household at your campus.
Deadline to register and fill out your background check is by end of day June 25th.
The week of Houston 1:8 is meant to be the start (or a continuation) of relationships with your neighbors. When the week is over, the ministry continues! Keep in contact with the people you meet during the week, invite others over for dinner or coffee, invite people to church — and continue to pray for your neighborhood!
