Hurricane Florence Relief

sep 14, 2018

No matter the storm — Harvey, Ike, Allison, others — people around the nation have always pitched in to help Houston recover. Now, Houston's First is preparing to help those impacted by Hurricane Florence on the East Coast.

Thanks to the ongoing generosity of the Houston's First family, we already had funds available so that we could send financial donations to Southern Baptist Disaster Relief of the North American Mission Board, Samaritan's Purse, and Mercy Chefs.

Sending Relief Teams

Now, we want to know who among the Houston's First family might be interested in traveling to North Carolina or other impacted areas to provide hands-on relief and recovery support. Church staff members are in contact with ministry partners and churches in the region to assess how we can be of help. No dates have been set, nor have specific destinations been identified.

In the meantime, we ask anybody who might want to travel to the East Coast to please complete a short volunteer interest form. Completing this form is not a commitment to going; rather, it simply provides us with a list of people who are interested. The church will be in touch with you as plans begin to formulate.

(Keep in mind that travel expenses would be your responsibility, just as with any of our other mission trips.)
