Jasie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, having earned her graduate degree at University of Houston, she is also a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. Jasie spent five years at L’Abri Fellowship in Switzerland, where she had the privilege of pursuing new depths in her own spirituality as well as teaching and guiding students as they wrestled with both theological and personal challenges in their relationship with God. During this time she developed a passion for helping people understand the power of their identity in Christ, and the ways in which it shapes every aspect of our lived experience. Jasie returned to the USA to pursue formal training so that she could spend the rest of her career working with individuals, couples, and groups striving to overcome the challenges of daily stress, mental illness, addiction, and the traumas and crises inherent to life in this world.
Jasie spent 6 years working with homeless women who are in the process of recovering from addiction, mental illness, and trauma, and she is particularly passionate about these issues. She is experienced in a number of different therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and other modalities which she utilizes based on the goals and challenges expressed by each individual client, couple, or family. Jasie works from the assumption that while no problem is unique, every individual is, and with a personalized combination of therapeutic approach and goal setting, change and healing are always possible. As a counselor, she strongly believes in the power of therapy, but more importantly than that, she believes in the power of the Holy Spirit and the grace of God, and all her work is undergirded by a commitment to biblical truths and prayer.
