One of the best and easiest ways to get involved as a parent is to volunteer with us on Sunday or Wednesday evenings. We have several different opportunities including Kids’ Worship leaders or teachers, Life Bible Study teachers, Guest Central volunteers, and High 5, Breakout, and Friction volunteers on Wednesdays. Visit our Volunteer Opportunities page for more details. For more information on getting plugged in, please contact us using the form below.
Our strategy here in the First Kids ministry is to make church the best two hours of every kid’s week. Make it a priority to bring them to church, and ask how YOU can get involved by serving alongside your child.
Contact us to set up a meeting for your child and at least one parent/guardian. During this meeting, the child will receive a pre-baptism journal to work through at home, as well as discuss the meaning of salvation and baptism. Once the child completes the journal, we will confirm readiness for baptism and Kevin Spivey will be contacted to schedule the child’s baptism. If there are any questions or concerns about the journal or the child’s readiness, we will schedule a follow up meeting as needed.
Join our Family Connect email. This email is a weekly tool to help families connect church and home. Parents are called to be the primary disciplers of their children. This resource is packed with discussion topics, based on the lessons taught in Kids’ Worship and Life Bible Study, to help start meaningful conversations with your family throughout the week. Once you sign up for it, you will receive it every Sunday. Enter your email below to start receiving First Kids Ministry news and updates.
LBS — Life Bible Study classes are age-graded weekly grow times on Sundays where kids have fun exploring God’s Word in a smaller group setting. Games, activities, and videos are used to enhance the chronological study of the Bible.
Milestones — Milestones are classes geared for parents as they disciple their son/daughter during the life stages of their children.
Friction — “Friction” is a Midweek event for 4th and 5th graders to engage in action-packed discipleship. It is designed just for Preteens, helping connect Sunday to Sunday.
Breakout — “Breakout” is our Wednesday night discipleship program for 1st through 3rd graders. “Breakout” will move children forward in their spiritual maturity by Knowing Christ (1st grade), Growing in Christ (2nd grade), and 3rd grade is introduced to Serving Christ and Sharing Christ.
The4Five — This is the official name for our Preteen Ministry. This ministry is designed to minister to 4th and 5th graders, specifically, and their parents. We would love to get your kids plugged in and excited about Serving Christ and Sharing Christ with your peers.
Kids’ Worship — We want worship to be a positive experience for children. Whether they are listening, participating, or leading, worship is a vital part of the Christian life. In Kids’ Worship, we want to attract children to a life filled with song, scripture and age-appropriate spiritual maturity, regardless of talent. 1st and 2nd grade worship together in “The Clubhouse” and 3rd – 5th grade worship together in “The Loft”.
F-L-I-G-H-T — Flight stands for Faithful Leaders in God’s Holy Truth. Flight is a 1 year Leadership Program designed to develop Preteens for ministry. Preteens must apply, interview and display leadership potential for acceptance into this program. They meet Wednesday night at 6pm.
High 5 — High 5 is a kids’ music program for 1st-5th graders. We want you and your child to be part of all the exciting happenings with High 5 Kids’ Choirs! We look for as many ways as possible to teach our High 5 kids various ways to worship the Lord with all their “heart, mind, soul and strength,” and we have a great time as we do it! High 5 participates several times each year in our worship services.
