Our Mission: To be a Gospel Transforming, Disciple Making, Family Centered Kids Ministry.

We strive to fulfill our mission through intentional programming that point kids to Jesus Christ and lead them to become growing followers of Him. We will partner with parents by encouraging, equipping, and empowering them to be the primary disciplers of their children.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the Children’s Ministry Offices?

Room 314: 3rd Floor West Hallway

How do I register for an event?

Most events that require registration can be accessed on each event page. You can view our upcoming events on our calendar. If you have specific questions about how to register, please contact us using the form below.

How can I get involved as a parent?

One of the best ways to get involved as a parent is to volunteer with us on Sunday or Wednesday. We have several different opportunities including Life Bible Study teachers, Guest Central volunteers, and High 5, Breakout, and Friction volunteers. Visit our Volunteer Opportunities page for more details. For more information on getting plugged in, please contact Bill Emeott

How can I get my son/daughter more involved in church?

Our strategy at First Kids is to provide relationship driven; Jesus centered programming every time we have your kids. Relationships (both with other kids and loving adults) are best fostered when kids are actually present. Make it a priority to bring your kids to church, and ask how YOU can get involved by serving alongside your child.

What is the process for getting my child baptized?

Becoming a Christian is the most important decision anyone will ever make. At HFBC we believe that baptism is an expression of something that has already taken place, salvation. Therefore, we take our privilege of joining kids on their spiritual journey very serious.

Before baptism First Kids will set up times to meet with your child and at least one parent. During these meetings, a staff member will lead a discussion to discern where the child is on her/his spiritual journey. The child will receive a workbook to complete at home. Once the child completes the workbook and readiness for believer’s baptism is confirmed our team will forward the request to our Minister of Assimilation who will work with families to schedule the baptism. If there are any questions or concerns about the child’s readiness, a follow up meeting will be scheduled. For more information or to set up an initial appointment contact Bill Emeott.

Breakout: “Breakout” is our midweek Bible study hour for 1st through 3rd graders. “Breakout” will move children forward in their spiritual maturity by teaching kids how to incorporate spiritual practices into their lives. Kids will learn about having a quiet time with God, praying, reading their Bibles, worshipping, serving, and stewardship. For more information about Breakout contact Courtney Harris.

Family Worship: Leading kids to worship their heavenly Father is one of the greatest privileges and responsibility of any parent. We encourage kids’ families to worship together each week during Family Worship. “My Worship Notes” are available to help kids focus and receive Pastor Gregg’s main points each Sunday.

Friction: “Friction” is our midweek event for 4th and 5th graders that engages preteens in action-packed discipleship. It is designed to help preteens understand what they believe as Christians and how to defend their beliefs in their daily walk. For more information about Friction contact Taylor Carper at
