Dear HUB Family,

On this page, we'll post updates on the work of the Student Ministry Discovery Team as they seek candidates to fill open positions in The HUB at The Loop Campus. These updates are also being sent directly to you via email.

If you have someone you would like to recommend or if you would like to send a note to the Discovery Team, please use this email address:

In Him,

UPDATE: Aug 31, 2020

We have a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! We have a new Student Minister, High School Minister, and Student Ministry Associate for The HUB at The Loop Campus! Find out who they are and get to know them here!

UPDATE: July 7, 2020

Dear HUB Family,

Recently we sent out a video with the exciting news that our Discovery Team is making a great deal of progress. Our hope is that within about 4-6 weeks we can announce and introduce several people to you as we seek to fill four empty positions. The team has been hard at work with phone interviews, seeking resumes, and doing background checks on candidates for these positions. In this day and age, the search process is much more involved that just looking at a resume and conducting an interview. We want to make sure the candidates we put forth are fully-vetted through research into their reputations, social media presence, and history of being an appropriate adult for students. With all that, Lord willing, our plan is to start the fall with a much bigger staff.

One quick word of prayer, for not only The HUB, but all NextGen divisions – please pray that God would raise up men and women to serve in leadership with kids. This break, due to COVID-19, has led to the loss of a few leaders. Some are due to age, medical conditions, or just a desire for a change. But we know God calls people to different areas of service as they participate in the local church. If you or someone you know is interested in serving in this great opportunity, please click here.

We want to extend a big "thank you" to Tony Bianco, Linda Sproule, and Becca Wooldridge for holding down the fort in such an amazing way by producing videos, sending out curriculum, communicating with leaders and students, and many other activities. If you have not yet viewed the plan for returning to in-person Life Bible Studies in The HUB, please click here.

Thank you everyone for your prayers! Please continue to do so. God is good and He is giving us great guidance in filling The HUB team!

UPDATE: Apr 7, 2020

Dear HUB family,

As you continue to deal with the current season of COVID-19, the thought of our Student Minister search may be the furthest thing from your mind. But I want you to know it continues to be on the mind of both me and the Student Ministry Discovery Team. Just before the stay-at-home order changed our daily lives, we were in the process of reaching out to several candidates in multiple states. But, as you can imagine, those candidates (all currently on a church staff) are dealing with lots of details and a completely different work schedule, like most of us.

So, we have entered into a time of prayer as a team and we ask that you join us. Pray that God would direct us to any changes in timing or direction that might be needed in reaction to the pandemic. Also, pray that God would help us to be sensitive to what He is doing during this time. Along with you, we desire to see our students flourish spiritually, as well as emotionally. And, we believe God desires that as well and will be very effective in guiding us to our next Student Minister.

Also, remember to keep Tony, Linda, Becca, and Chris in your prayers as they have all taken on many new duties to create and distribute content to you and care for students. During this time of virtual-this and technology-that, it is a blessing to have someone of Tony’s tech knowledge to be leading the ministry. This whole staff is working very hard because of their love for you and your students.

Thank you for praying with us and stay safe! Of course, if your family has a need, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Student Ministry staff.

UPDATE: Feb 4, 2020

Dear HUB Family,

I wanted to give you a quick update in our search for a Student Minister:

  1. Discovery Team – We now have 7 parents who have agreed to be part of this team. Initially my plan was to make those names public. However, I was given some great advice from people I trust about the value of keeping this group private. This avoids them being bombarded with questions on Sundays and Wednesdays as well as keeping any internal candidates from feeling like they are “on” when they are around them. So, to that end, we will not announce this group until we have a person to present.
  2. Process – Just to go over the process again – this and all hires are at the discretion of Pastor Gregg. With the assistance of the Discovery Team, I will submit a candidate to Pastor Gregg. If he agrees, that person will then go to the Personnel Committee for final approval. This means that no less than 15 people are a part of the hiring process.
  3. Candidates – We currently have seven candidates for the Student Minister position and seven additional candidates for the High School Minister. I have contacted eleven people across that country from seminary professors, parachurch leaders, denominational leaders in student ministry and church staff. At this point, we are hoping that a search firm will not be necessary as names continue to come to us. If you have a name or resume you would like to submit, please send it to
  4. Current Staff – Tony, Linda, and Becca are doing well and have a great handle on Rushmore. Tony, Linda, and I met last Sunday with Directors from each Life Bible Study department in The HUB and I was very encouraged by the great leadership and connection we have between them and the staff.

Please continue to pray for this process and for God to lead us to the person he wants in each of these positions. If you have questions or concerns along the way, feel free to let me know (I know you will!).

UPDATE: Jan 13, 2020

Dear HUB Family,

As we turn the page to a New Year, we do so with a determination and conviction that God is already preparing the people needed to fill the roles we currently have vacant on The HUB Staff at The Loop.

With that in mind, I wanted to get you up to date on a few things happening in The HUB:

  1. Interim Student Minister – we have named Tony Bianco to serve as the Interim Student Minister while a search takes place to fill both the Student Minister and High School Minister positions. I would encourage you to pray for and seek to be helpful to Tony as he takes on this important role especially considering the size of the staff.
  2. Discovery Team – we are in the process of putting together a Discovery Team made up of HUB volunteers, parents and church staff that will assist me in filling these positions as quickly as possible. Our desire is to see the Student Minister position filled this spring and the High School Minister soon after that. Pray for this team of people as they look through resumes, make contacts, and seek to discern God’s will. I will make the names of these people public in my next update.
  3. Process – we have already contacted several Student Ministry leaders across the country to begin receiving names and finding possible candidates. This will be a national search, but will also include internal candidates as well. The Discovery Team will meet regularly with me to sift through possible candidates and seek to fill these positions quickly. Pray that God will direct us to those He wants us to make contact with.
  4. Quick Survey – I would ask that you take this very quick survey in which we ask you to give us one word that describes what you believe is important in our next Student Minister. You can take the survey by clicking here.

Be assured that all the events on The HUB calendar are proceeding without interruption and we are very excited about the year ahead. If your kids are not yet signed up for Rushmore (10th grade and above), please take a look at this great opportunity for your kids to be involved and ministered to well.
