Skylar uses an eclectic approach when it comes to counseling. She uses different techniques depending on the needs and goals of her clients. She commonly uses Family Systems, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Solution Focused, and PolyVagyl Theory. Her counseling sessions are developmentally and multiculturally sensitive that includes compassion, whole person integration, personal empowerment, and hope.
Personally, she works from a Christian worldview, but she is sensitive towards others’ beliefs. She always respects the perspectives of her clients, and works within their values. She counsels without judgment, but strives to help others work through counseling goals with the hope of her clients having a healthier lifestyle. When she is not working, she loves to spend time with her husband, daughter, family, and friends. She enjoys being outdoors, doing crafts, reading, and traveling. She looks forward to meeting you, and helping you on your journey towards a more enjoyable life!
