Pastor Gregg Addresses SCOTUS Decision

Jul 16, 2015

Pastor Gregg Matte was on his annual sabbatical when the Supreme Court issued their decision regarding same-sex marriage on June 26, 2015. In this video, he shares a few thoughts about the subject with the Houston's First family and provides encouragement and guidance on where we go from here as followers of Christ.

In addition to his words here, Pastor Gregg points our attention to these other related resources:

More information related to the Supreme Court’s decision:
Excerpt from Houston’s First's Bylaws:

"The church believes that the term “marriage” has only one meaning, which is marriage sanctioned by God, joining one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture."

Excerpt from Houston’s First's statement of faith, The Baptist Faith and Message:

"Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime."
