Every Sunday and throughout the week, the ministry of Houston's First Baptist Church comes to life through our team of PATHMAKERS - the generous people who have said "Yes!" to the call to serve.
PATHMAKERS
At Houston's First, our aim is to foster a community of individuals who live abundantly purposeful and joy-filled lives, stepping out in faith to collaborate with God’s work.
We emphasize the importance of action over words, dedicating our time and talents for His Kingdom and living out the teachings of Jesus in our daily lives. Both generosity and serving are acts of worship when done with sincerity, transforming the heart in profound ways and fulfilling the mission He set before us.
PATHMAKERS remove barriers and clear the way to Jesus.

The first step is to let us know you want to serve! There are opportunities to serve at every campus, in nearly every aspect of Houston’s First. We can’t wait to serve with you!
SERVE WITH CHILDREN, STUDENTS, & SPECIAL NEEDS ADULTSHouston’s First takes special measures to ensure that volunteers create environments of safety and security to protect children, youth, and special needs adults. If you feel called to serve with any of these groups, you will be contacted by a member of our Safeguarding team to begin the process of serving with these protected groups. | SERVE WITH ADULT MINISTRIES, WELCOME TEAM, & MOREAdult Ministries, Welcome Team, and many other areas of our church do not require Safeguarding verification and are able to offer you a place to serve more quickly. We encourage you to explore the wide variety of opportunities to serve. One of our volunteer coordinators will help you find the place that speaks most to your heart! |
Spiritual Gifts Assessment
If you are unaware of your spiritual gifts, heart passions, or personality traits, we offer a confidential spiritual gifts assessment free of charge courtesy of Houston's First! While completion of this assessment is not required to volunteer, it can better assist you in determining where to serve that best utilizes your God-given spiritual gifts.
