I am Licensed Professional Counseling Associate under the supervision of Mary Ring, LPC-S. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology and my Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communication from the University of Houston. I have also worked for seven years in the children’s ministry at Houston’s First Baptist Church before joining the Julianna Poor Memorial Counseling staff. I am currently a trained EMDR therapist, trained level one Theraplay therapist, and a facilitator for Prepare/Enrich and SYMBIS (premarital and marriage). I have also trained in additional areas of anxiety, depression and trauma.
I center my approach to counseling on the healing power that arises from fostering healthy attachments, recognizing that God designed us to be in loving communion with one another. I welcome families of all styles and ages, as well as individuals who are single. Whether there are conflicts in relationships, anxiety or depression, parenting challenges, issues involving children, teenagers, or young adults, my aim is to walk alongside clients and equip them with the tools needed to overcome their struggles. I pray that anyone who is struggling would seek out counseling, discover grace and connection, and as a result find the healing they need.
Outside of counseling I am a husband and a father. I enjoy spending time with my family and discovering new ways to bring joy and Jesus into our home. My family and I are originally from Houston and plan on spending our life here growing our family while being a blessing to others as well.
