The Thursday before Easter is known as "Maundy Thursday." The term "maundy" is a shortened form of mandatum — the Latin word for "command." It was on this day — the evening before Jesus' crucifixion — that He gathered with His disciples for their last supper together. There, He washed their feet and gave them this commandment:
"I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another." — John 13:34
The Houston's First family at Sienna Campus will gather with The Loop Campus to remember Jesus' sacrifice at our Broken For You service on Thu, Apr 18, as we gather in praise, prayer, and preparation for Easter. The evening will include observance of the Lord's Supper, and we'll receive a special benevolence offering.
Pastor Gregg Matte is calling the Houston's First family to fast on Thursday leading up to the Broken For You service — allowing for the Lord's Supper elements to be the first morsel of food consumed that day.
Reserve your spot on the Sienna Campus Charter Bus headed to The Loop Campus for Broken For You. The bus will arrive at the Sienna Campus at 5:30p, and we will depart at 6p for The Loop.
