It takes courage come to counseling, and it is my desire that my clients will find a safe space that provides opportunities for growth and healing. I want work together with you to navigate through times of adjustment, grief, troubled relationships, anxiety and depression. Children and young adults are especially dear to my heart, and issues surrounding ADHD, parenting, divorce, and adoption are important to me.
I want my clients to gain a perspective of hope and optimism, and be able to take the things we work on in counseling to use in every area of life. I sincerely believe that God has created each person with strengths and talents and I love to help them discover them. I practice from a Person-Centered approach, but use different therapies to accommodate the specific needs of my clients.
I earned my Master’s of Arts in Counseling from the University of Houston. I also have a background in education with a Master’s in Education from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and a degree in Advertising/Psychology from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I have lived in Houston for 22 years. I have three grown children and two grand dogs. Some of the things I enjoy: spending time with my children and friends, my church, yoga, traveling, hiking, reading, mah jongg, the theatre, and learning and experiencing new things.
