Prepare Spiritually & Practically

In the midst of all that 2020 has brought us, Americans will also go to the polls this November to elect leaders at various levels of government — including the President of the United States. Every election is another opportunity for us all to exercise our right to vote — and for Christians to have a direct impact on our nation's government.

Pastor Gregg Matte and Houston's First encourage believers to prepare spiritually and practically for the 2020 elections. To help, we're providing the following resources and opportunities. Some are designed to focus your heart on Him, elevating the truth of His Word above the noise of the headlines. Others are provided simply to get you ready to actually vote — making sure you're registered and can find a polling location.

Also included is a letter from Pastor Gregg where he shares his heart about the unique ministry opportunities God has given him as he interacts with various elected officials.

No matter how you vote, do so with a heart that has spent time in God's Word and in prayer with Him. Then, cast your vote knowing that He is in control of all things!

The Pastor and Politicians

"Through the years, I have been invited to attend numerous types of events and have met with leaders in various arenas. Those in political realms —— local, state, or national —— always seem to bring the most questions. I thought it would be helpful to share my heart and thoughts." — Pastor Gregg Matte
