The Cypress Campus of Houston's First is building a new home off the Grand Parkway next door to Cy-Fair ISD's newest educational village — including Bridgeland High School. The building will open in summer 2017. Until then, the Cypress Campus family continues to meet at Smith Middle School (10300 Warner Smith Blvd) on Sundays with worship services and Life Bible Studies at 9:30a and 11a.
Follow along with the construction process in the photo galleries below — and the drone footage — and pray for the safety of the construction crew over the months to come.
The Cypress Campus family gathered on Sun, Nov 6, 2016, at our future home for a special moment in the life of our church — the Foundation of Prayer. A tradition that started at The Loop Campus in 2008 and continued at our other campuses, the Foundation of Prayer is a time when the church family is invited to write on the foundation of the building the names of people they are praying for to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior. For many years to come, we will literally "pray over" these names — and we look forward to seeing lives changed as they decided to follow Him!
It was a beautiful day in Cypress on Wed, Sep 14, 2016, as Houston’s First staff members, Cypress Campus building team members, the construction crew, Tellepsen representatives and others gathered to celebrate the “topping out” of our new building located off of the Grand Parkway. The crew was congratulated on their safety track record, and Pastor Gregg Matte thanked them for using their gifts and time to make the building possible. He also told his story and how he came to follow Jesus Christ, sharing with those gathered how they could, too.
Drone footage, taken on Aug 24, 2016, show our Cypress Campus' new building under construction off of the Grand Parkway in Bridgeland.
The future home of the Cypress Campus family is under construction just off of the Grand Parkway (SH 99) by the Bridgeland Creek Parkway exit and next to Cy-Fair ISD's next educational village.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 10, 2016 — the 175th anniversary of Houston's First — and the campus expects to welcome guests in the new building in early summer 2017.
