Flood Assistance

May 27, 2015

As parts of Houston undertake recovery efforts following the historic floods this week, Houston's First is finding ways that we can help and minister to those impacted by the storm. The information below explains how you can receive assistance, and how you can help others.

Benevolence

Church members in need of benevolence assistance can go to or contact Marisol Ramos at the Faith Center at Marisol.Ramos@HoustonsFirst.org or 713.554.8801. We also will accept non-member referrals.

Donations

If you would like to help flood victims in Houston, consider supporting our Faith Center's Food Pantry & Clothes Closet.

Food Pantry & Clothes Closet

Flood victims are coming for food, clothing, and more. The ministry is in need of additional volunteers and donations to replenish their supplies.

  • The Food Pantry & Clothes Closet is located at 8244 Long Point Road between Wirt and Bingle, just four miles from The Loop Campus.
  • Donations can be dropped off between 10a-2p on Mon-Thu and on Sat. The ministry is closed on Fri and Sun. All sizes and types of clothing are accepted, along with personal hygiene products.
  • Volunteers are invited to serve during the same hours.

Your Generosity

Thanks to the previous and ongoing generosity of the Houston's First family, the church was able to make immediate financial donations to:

  • Texas Baptist Men's Disaster Relief to support efforts throughout the state
  • Relief efforts following earthquakes in Nepal
  • Relief efforts following tornadoes in Acuña, Mexico
  • Relief efforts following a typhoon in the Philippines

Thank you for sacrificially giving to the ministry of Houston's First so that we are able to respond to immediate needs such as these in the name of Jesus Christ. To contribute to the church's Great Commission Giving at anytime, you can make a secure online donation here at HoustonsFirst.org.
