Connect

Legacy685

Legacy 685 actively seeks to connect adoptive and foster families to one another as well as the relevant resources that lead to deep healing connections.

Legacy Life Bible Study

If you’ve got a heart for orphaned, adopted or foster children, this is the Life Bible Study for you. Join us each week at the 9:15a hour for expository teaching, community and prayer. (Room 503)

Gatherings

Gatherings are aimed to be a Launchpad for deeper community! As we gather from across the city our goal is to provide opportunities for families to connect here and establish deep healing connections a little closer to home within their neighborhoods and areas.

NEW! Hesed — (the romanized rendering of the Hebrew word chesed is used to describe a kindness or love between people) R.C. Sproul Jr. says, “There may be no more significant Old Testament description about how God relates His people than this Hebrew word hesed. The best translation of this word is ‘loyal love.’ It is a love that is genuine, immutable, and loyal. It is steadfast. It is a word that describes both love and loyalty which are deeply bound together. It is our highest calling to reflect that reality. Our loyalty and love are grounded in our loyal love toward Him who loved us first.”

Legacy 685 is thrilled to announce a new gathering created for couples who are on the foster or adoptive journey. Through Hesed, couples will have the opportunity to explore steadfast, loyal love in the midst of the complexities of parenting that no doubt impact the marriage.

Hesed facilitators, Aaron and Hannah Bunker, have walked this journey and have an immense desire to equip and empower couples to live intentionally and steadfastly in every aspect of their lives.

Join us the 4th Sunday of each month at the Loop Campus for dinner, fellowship, and fun! Childcare is provided through Sunday night programming.

Volunteer

The Legacy 685 Volunteer team is affectionately called the “O Team.” We find in 2 Tim 1:16 these words, “May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorius, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains.” This team of volunteers fulfills a variety of needs to help support foster families in the day-to-day demands of life. Onesiphorus means “bringing profit” or “useful.” We seek to practically assist foster families to refresh them and encourage them not to grow weary in doing good. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Gal 6:9 The O Team provides two distinct paths of service, Direct and Indirect.
