Sarah will graduate with her Master of Science in Counseling in December 2022 from Clarks Summit University (formerly Baptist Bible College) and is working toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has a double major in Bible and Counseling Ministries also from Clarks Summit.
I enjoy helping clients gain insight into their circumstances and themselves, set and achieve their goals, and make sense of their situation from a Christian perspective. Guided by God’s Word, I seek to meet clients where they are while helping them find wholeness and better understand the relevance of God’s truth. I firmly believe that change is possible through the power of God’s redemptive grace and the working of His Spirit. At the same time, individual clients can decide to what extent they would like to incorporate Christian spirituality and practices into therapy.
Whatever the case, I counsel knowing that each person has dignity and worth and a story to tell and that each client is unique and has different needs that will inform the healing process. Whoever I am serving, my passion is assisting, equipping, and empowering clients in reaching their God-given potential while living in a broken world.
I am specifically drawn to cases involving anxiety, stress, grief and loss, crisis, communication, coping, spiritual issues, life transitions, singleness, gender identity, cross-cultural issues, and women’s issues. I enjoy working with teens and women of all ages. In my counseling, I draw from reality therapy, rational-emotive behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, attachment theory, and Christian/biblical counseling, with compassion, respect, empathy, and authenticity.
I have lived in Houston since 2019 and enjoy music (classical, traditional, and contemporary), reading, the outdoors, listening to podcasts, and blogging.
