Book Review, Infomercial, or Graphic
B – Book Review – Describe in WORDS on paper, online, or on Alexandria how this book impacted you or can impact others.
Follow the steps below to write and submit your book review on Alexandria:
- Log in to Alexandria using the username (patron #) and password (last name).
- Search for and then select the title you want to review.
- Click the star rating graphic to the right of the title name to open the “Title Reviews” box.
- Click “Write Your Own Review!” under the title.
- Next, enter your review for this title. It can be anything from a few short notes or very detailed description on exactly how this book impacted you.
- In the upper right corner, choose the number of stars you would like to rank your book on a scale of 1-5 (5 being BEST).
- Click “Submit” to save your review, or click “Cancel” to close the dialog without saving your changes.
- Under “View Your Reviews” you will see “Thank you for submitting your review, it is currently awaiting approval.”
- Choose OK.
Your review will be previewed before posting for others to see.
I – Infomercial – Film a 30-60 second VIDEO explaining how this book impacted you or can impact others.
- Use a blank background with good lighting
- Include book title and author
- Convince others to read YOUR book
- Limit to 30-60 seconds in length
- Submit your infomercial via email at Corner.Books.Library@HoustonsFirst.org or online.
G – Graphic art – get CREATIVE, express how your book impacted you or can impact others through art.

Instructions to Renew Items Online
- Go to https://cornerbookslibrary.goalexandria.com/
- Choose "Status"
- Enter your library patron number (4-5 digits) for the username and your last name as the password
- Under “Items Out”, click on the RED arrows in the bottom right hand corner
- The question, “Are you sure that you want to renew this item?” will appear, click “renew”
- Your new due date will appear in the pop-up screen
- Repeat this process for each item you wish to renew.
NOTE: If you receive the notice “Renewal Failed”, your item is on hold for another patron and can NOT be renewed. Please return that item to CornerBooks Library at your earliest convenience.
Add a Book Review
We invite you to review books that you have read in the CornerBooks Library collection by completing the steps below to write and submit your book review:
- Log in to Alexandria using the username (patron #) and password (last name)
- Search for and then select the title you want to review.
- Click the star rating graphic to the right of the title name to open the Title Reviews dialog.
- When the Title Review dialog appears, click “Write Your Own Review!” under the title
- Select the number of stars that you rate this title (one through five) in the top-right corner
- Next, enter your review (optional) for this title. It can be anything from a few short notes or something detailed that describes exactly what you liked.
- Click Submit to save your review, or click Cancel to close the dialog without saving your changes.
Your review will be previewed before posting for others to see.
