Houston’s First’s Missionary Care Team aims to bring value to global workers through resources and relationships. In doing so, we enable missionaries to be sustained for long-term ministry and legacy on the field.
A Care Contact is a person with a heart for God’s global workers, a passion to see God glorified in the nations, and an ability to relate well with people. Each Care Contact agrees to serve as a contact person for a missionary or missionary family ministering in the world. A Care Contact could be a representative of a larger group (e.g., Life Bible Study), an individual, or a family.
Here are some of the resources we provide for returned missionaries:
Sean and Jenny Nuccio, Missionaries to Kenya
Sean and Jenny Nuccio are missionaries that we support here at Houston's First. In 2013, Sean and Jenny founded an organization called Imani Collective (imanicollective.com), a global social profit organization with a vision to see individuals and families rise above poverty and become empowered change agents. They provide opportunities that equip women to unleash their greatness through empowerment + opportunity + community.
Jenny birthed the organization in the Kenyan village in which she resided, with a vision to enable the Kenyan women there to better provide for their families through increased skills and opportunities. The Lord has grown this ministry immensely, and the Imani Collective now employs over fifty Kenyan men + women in Mtepeni Village and Mombasa, along with half a dozen women stateside.
If you are interested in “adopting” a missionary as a Care Contact or are interested in providing support by other means, contact Skyler Womack at Skyler.Womack@HoustonsFirst.org.
