Did you know that HFBC supports over 200 missionary families from a variety of different organizations – all over the world? Are you curious about all the amazing things God is doing through their worldwide work as His plan moves forward? We all have a crucial role to play in their efforts - missionary families struggle the same way we do in many areas of life - only their struggles are often magnified by health and security risks, exposure to different culture and language, and isolation from their loved ones and support groups. Come find out how you can best serve and support the Houston’s First missionary community.
A Care Contact is someone who coordinates (with their family or small groups) to ‘adopt’ a missionary partner supported by Houston’s First, to provide encouragement, prayer, and a direct link to our local church family. We are looking for people with a heart for missionaries, a passion to see God glorified in the nations, and an ability to relate well with people.
Each Care Contact agrees to serve as a contact person for a missionary or missionary family ministering in the world. A Care Contact could be a representative of a larger group (e.g., Life Bible Study) or an individual or a family. Listed below are some of the ways the Care Contacts would be asked to support their missionary family – but each Care Contact should bring their own ideas and personality to the relationship:
Please note: Care Contacts will receive training and support on how to do all the above from Houston’s First Missionary Care Team.
Here are some of the resources we provide for returned missionaries:
