Hope House

Many families travel from around the country and the world to come to Houston’s famous Medical Center for treatment. While here dealing with diagnoses and treatment, they are removed from their support systems of family and friends during a most difficult time in their lives. Houston’s First Baptist seeks to come alongside those families by offering housing, encouragement and fellowship for the duration of their stay. We currently have several one bedroom condominiums near the Medical Center of Houston. While being our guests, families are in a safe home environment. Hope House Ministry endeavors to provide as much support and contact with the body of Christ to patients and their families by connecting them with other HFBC ministries such as Life Bible Study groups, Fitness and Recreation facilities, Pastoral Care Hospital Visitors, Stephen Ministers, CanHope Ministry, and many more. Our prayer is that the patient and family members will see their time with Hope House as a journey to trust God more with their life and circumstances.

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

— Exodus 14:14

Procedure for Requesting a Reservation

Submit the following by email, fax, or hand deliver

Requests are placed on a waiting list according to date/time of receipt into Pastoral care and date housing is needed.

Once space becomes available…

The staff will schedule a personal interview with the patient and caregiver. Preferably this takes place in person in Houston. However, it can be scheduled as a SKYPE or FACE TIME interview. After the interview, the staff will issue a formal invitation for the applicant to be our guest. Upon arrival in Houston, a Check-In meeting is scheduled. Guests come to the Pastoral Care office to complete paperwork, signing a Guest Agreement for Short Term Housing. A $200 refundable damage deposit is required at that time. Then the staff takes the guest to be assigned Hope House. Addresses are not given out prior to arrival. Incoming Guests are processed during weekday office hours and on Sunday from noon to 2:00 pm. Only upon leaving Hope House, an Exit Visit is scheduled with the staff.
