First Kids
Our children’s ministry programs are intended to reach children, teach children and train children to be followers of Jesus Christ. We do this by creating relevant biblical community for children and their families.
- Reach (relevant) — We want to reach children and their families with the gospel by creating venues that are fun and meet their felt needs.
- Teach (biblical): — We want children and their families to know and connect with God’s heart for them and for the world, expressed in His Word.
- Train (community) — We want children and their families to be trained to follow Jesus as they interact with, observe and learn from our leaders and their peers.

Sundays
Life Bible Study + Kids' Worship
For kids at Houston's First, Sundays are split into two distinct parts. While you are transitioning between worship service and bible study, your kids are doing the same.
1st-3rd Grade
9a—Life Bible Study
10:45a—Kids' Worship
Preteens (4th & 5th Grade)
9a & 10:45a—Life Bible Study
Preteens are encouraged to attend adult worship with their parents one hour and attend LBS during the same hour their parents attend LBS.
Wednesdays
Breakout
While you attend a Wednesday evening gathering, 1st-5th graders gather at Breakout in the Loft during Wednesday evenings from 6:30–8p in the Fall and Spring. They will experience age-appropriate Bible study and small groups. A pizza dinner is served (a small donation is suggested).

Kids' Worship
Worship should be a positive experience for children.
1st–5th Grade
Whether they are listening, participating, or leading, worship is a vital part of the Christian life. In Kids’ Worship, we want to attract children to a life filled with song, scripture and age-appropriate spiritual maturity, regardless of talent. Along side Life Bible Studies, Kids' Worship is the other half of Sundays for 1st–5th at Houston's First. Kids' Worship begins at 9:45a.
