Legacy 68:5 connects adoptive and foster families with one another through weekly Life Bible Study, monthly and quarterly gatherings, an annual Big Event, and a Biennial retreat for moms. Gatherings are designed to be sacred spaces where parents on this unique journey can make connections and find community. Quarterly and annual events are designed for the whole family to be able to connect with other families, the Legacy 68:5 staff and volunteers, and have fun!
MOTH is a part of the ministry of Legacy 68:5, seeking to equip, empower, and encourage foster and adoptive moms on their unique parenting journey. Join us each month for teaching, fellowship, and connection!
*See each campus website for event details.
Legacy 68:5 Dad's Club invites current and future Dads in our community to come to The Loop for dinner, fellowship, and a word of encouragement. Our goal is to connect and equip you as foster, adoptive and kinship fathers by providing practical tools on relevant parenting topics unique to your journey.
Waiting Families is a gathering designed specifically for families who are waiting for their adoption process to finalize. That journey can be long and hard! Find encouragement, like-minded community and joy in the journey!

The Crossing is a quarterly lunch at the Loop Campus that provides an opportunity for families to break bread together, meet the Legacy 68:5 staff, make connections with volunteers, and play!
The Big Event occurs annually every Fall to connect adoptive and foster families and Legacy 68:5 volunteers from all campuses for a time of food and fun with friends!
Moms of the Heart provides a retreat every other year for adoptive and foster moms from all campuses in an effort to provide deeper connection and encouragement than what we can achieve in our monthly meetings.
Our last retreat was Mar 31–Apr 2, 2023 at the beautiful Hunt Retreat Center. Our theme was Courageous Love. Gathering together offers us the opportunity to connect our hearts, process through the year and reconnect with Biblical Truths that transform our lives.
We look forward to what our 2025 MOTH Retreat will hold!

In 2008, Houston’s First Baptist Church established the Adoption Assistance Fund in 2008 through Legacy 68:5 in response to the overwhelming financial hurdles that often come with adoption.
With the generosity of the church body and God’s faithfulness, Legacy 68:5 has helped support the adoption of over 200 children from 24 different countries!
At the heart of the fund is the desire to be able to help as many children experience the joy of a “forever family” as our collective resources will allow.
Through the fund administrator, Lifesong for Orphans, Legacy 68:5 is able to offer direct or matching grants to applicants who meet the established parameters.
For more information on the Adoption Assistance Fund, please email Legacy685@HoustonsFirst.org.
The Legacy 68:5 Adoption Assistance Fund is made possible by donations from the Houston's First family and friends of the church.
