Central Texas Floods

When the rain falls, the church rises.

Disaster Relief: Central Texas Floods

In response to the devastating flooding across Central Texas, Houston’s First remains in prayer for those affected as we closely monitor the status of the developing circumstances as communicated by local authorities and our strategic partners on the ground. As we minister to both those in Central Texas and right here in Houston, we invite you to gather with us to support our neighbors to bring hope into a community in need — one home, one prayer, and one act of love at a time.

How You Can Pray

Please join us in praying for the families and communities impacted by the flooding:

  • For the safe recovery of those still missing or unaccounted for
  • For comfort and peace for those who have lost loved ones, homes, and belongings
  • For safety and strength for first responders and relief workers
  • For wisdom and endurance for our ministry partners as they serve on the ground
  • For open heart to receive the love and hope of Jesus amid crisis

How You Can Give

Houston’s First is partnering with trusted organizations actively providing aid to those affected. Your support can help bring hope, healing, and practical assistance to families and communities in need.

Gifts given through these partner organizations will be used to support disaster relief efforts and human care needs associated with the Central Texas floods.

We invite you to prayerfully consider giving directly to one or more of the following partners:

How You Can Go

Help us be ready to respond with care, presence, and hope—whenever and wherever it’s needed most. One of the best ways you can help is by staying informed and ready. As needs arise, we’ll respond together. If you are physically able and willing to serve, we invite you to join us by responding in one of the following ways:

  • Join a Houston’s First Response Team

We are assembling volunteer teams from Houston’s First who are open to serving on short, overnight trips to Central Texas in the coming weeks. These trips are coordinated with trusted partners and local officials, and we anticipate sending out up to five teams.

Each trip will depart Friday evening, include an overnight stay, and return by the end of the day Saturday. Transportation and discounted lodging will be provided.

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to participate, and minors must serve alongside a parent or guardian.

If you're interested in being considered for one of these deployments, use the form below to sign up yourself or your family. At this stage, we’re simply gathering names of those who are willing to remain flexible and ready to serve as opportunities come together.

  • Deploy with a Partner Ministry

We’re honored to partner with Samaritan’s Purse — a trusted organization we’ve served alongside many times in past disaster responses. Right now, our neighbors in Central Texas need support, and once again, Samaritan’s Purse was among the first on the ground to help.

Join their efforts as they assist families recovering from the floods. Your presence can offer practical relief, heartfelt encouragement, and the assurance that no one is walking through this alone.

Whether you can serve for a day or an entire weekend, your time and compassion can make a lasting impact.

As needs evolve and response efforts continue, we will update this page with new information and ways you can help. Thank you for being a church family that steps in with compassion and care when it matters most. selected.

In times of crisis, children often experience confusion, fear, and anxiety in ways they can’t always express. As parents and caregivers, it’s vital to walk with them gently and intentionally.
We invite you to download Engaging Children During and After a Crisis — a helpful guide created to equip you with practical tools and Christ-centered encouragement as you support the children in your care through difficult moments.

Together, we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to our neighbors in crisis.
