Practicum Counselor | Supervisor: Steve Crain

I am currently a graduate student at Dallas Theological Seminary pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling with plans to graduate in December 2023. I have a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Hardin-Simons University.

My passion for counseling is anchored in my absolute love for Jesus Christ. I have a heart for those who are lost and facing difficult seasons in their lives. I love helping individuals, through the work of the Holy Spirit, regain their confidence to “walk on” along their journey. I believe healing occurs in relationship and I am grateful to be able to walk alongside those who are placed in my care. I have experience with adolescents and adults facing anxiety, depression, crisis, chronic or terminal illness, grief/loss, life transitions, and issues involving faith. I have previously mentored at-risk teens in state youth facilities, served extensively in family ministries, and have experience and training counseling adults through lay ministry. My counseling approach is based on the individual needs of the client with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy, and lots of prayer.

My husband and I are college sweethearts and have been married since 1998. We have three very busy teenage daughters, two crazy golden retrievers, and a very sweet rabbit. In my free time, you will probably find me either at my church hanging out and serving with our children and youth ministries or piled on the couch with my family and dogs watching a good movie.
