Richard M. Cozart has taught in academic and church ministry settings for several years. He is the Clinical Coordinator and Marriage and Family MA Coordinator for the graduate school of counseling at Houston Christian University, where he teaches courses leading to Christian counseling degrees and state licensure. He also designs courses for his department and chairs doctoral committees in the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Cozart served in churches for over four decades, as a senior pastor, church planter, Christian school principal, and staff pastor. He has a master's degree in Bible Exposition from Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM, 1982), a master's degree in biblical and theological studies from the University of Wales (MTh, 2008), and a master's degree in professional counseling from Liberty University (MA, 2020). He also has a PhD in biblical and theological studies from the University of Wales (2011), and a PhD in counselor education and supervision from Liberty University (2019) which is CACREP accredited. He is a licensed professional counselor and currently practices in the state of Texas (LPC #84995), a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors, a licensed and ordained minister with the Southern Baptist Convention, and a member of Chi Sigma Iota. He is the author of This Present Triumph (Wiph & Stock, 2013), an academic treatment of the Book of Ephesians. His current focus of research is the integration of faith and mental health.
