Welcome Clark Reynolds
as he joins our Houston's First team
in June as Missions Director!

Clark and his family have been part of the Houston’s First family for more than a decade. He and Michelle have been married for 21 years and have three children – Cole (19), Hannah (15) and Matthew (15). While at Houston’s First, the Reynolds family has been very involved in the Children’s Ministry, The HUB Student Ministry and Missions. Clark is in his second term on the church’s Missions Council and the Reynolds family has participated in and led mission trips to Costa Rica. In addition, Clark and Michelle have served for the past six years as Directors for 7th and 8th Grade in the 9:15a hour in The HUB at The Loop Campus.

Under Clark's leadership, Millennium and their sister organization Allegro Organizational Solutions have grown from $7.2MM in 2010 to a projected $22MM in 2018

A graduate of Tulane University with a degree in Political Economy, Clark began his career in retailing. He spent 15 years as a merchandising executive withFoley’s Department Stores. After leaving retail, Clark joined Millennium Relief and Development Services in the fall of 2007, and in January of 2010, he assumed the role of CEO of MRDS and has been in that role ever since.

At Foley's Clark was responsible for sales volume up to $34MM annually and utilized skills in financial planning, strategic/business planning and people development.

Millennium is a team of committed problem-solvers who are making a difference where change is desired by locals in communities throughout the world. The mission is “Intelligent Compassion in Complex Situations.” Millennium and its affiliate organization Allegro Organizational Solutions serve over 1300 team members in more than 40 countries. The ultimate goal is to do the support work that allows those who have been called to the field to spread Hope to the darkest parts of the world.

Clark has been involved in missions for nearly 20 years and is currently a trustee with the North American Mission Board of the SBC. In addition to his service with NAMB, he serves on the board of Pray the Word Ministries and is currently the Board Chair of Trinity Classical School of Houston.

The entire Reynolds family is thrilled to be part of this new chapter in their lives and the life of Houston’s First.

The Discovery Team

In the summer of 2018, Missions Pastor William Taylor determined that his service at Houston's First would conclude at the end of the current fiscal year, June 30, 2019. Following the example of our previous Missions Pastor Harvey Kneisel, William wanted to pass the baton to the next leader of our Missions team.
In August 2018, Pastor Gregg formed a “Discovery Team” comprised of a member of the Deacon body, Personnel Committee, and the Missions Council. The Discovery Team would meet on average every other week for the next six months along with Pastor Gregg and Executive Pastor David Self.
A nationwide search began following recommendations from William, church members, the heads of several national missions organizations and others. Ultimately, the Discovery Team considered 25 candidates representing 18 different churches and organizations located in eight different states and one foreign country.

After prayer, fasting, much deliberation and the endorsement of the Personnel Committee, Clark Reynolds was chosen as the new Mission’s Director of Houston’s First!

Here's what the Discovery Team had to say:

"The Lord has clearly prepared and called Clark for the Missions role at Houston's First..."

"Clark is a wise, gentle, confident, communicator, with a huge heart for our church, our city, our nation and our world. He lives life with kingdom purpose and loves to share stories about the Lord’s faithfulness with his family and through his workplace. Clark is a mature leader and connector, committed to share the Gospel at home and abroad. The Lord has clearly prepared and called Clark for the missions role at Houston’s First combining his church mission experience and his nine year leadership as CEO of Millennium. What a blessing it will be for Clark to take the baton from Missions Pastor William Taylor and step into the role as our new Missions Director!"

Lisa Taylor, Personnel Committee

"When I first met Clark, I found him to be personable, professional, and witty. I believe his business acumen, experience, and past leadership in large organizations will be crucial in taking the Missions department through the next chapter. His experience being on Missions Council gives him a great inside look into the heart of the church and his outside business experience will bring a fresh perspective on execution and management."

Cody Nicholson, Missions Council

"Clark Reynolds will make an excellent Missions Director for Houston’s First. He brings strong leadership skills leading a team of 17 as CEO at Millennium Relief and Development Services. His missions background is in helping other missions organizations plan for, and execute, their visions for the world, which fits our approach to missions. He will bring an outside perspective to our Missions operation with an inside understanding of the DNA of Houston's First. I am excited to see the future direction of Missions with Clark at the helm."
