I am a graduate of DTS with a MA in Biblical Counseling. I have also completed certifications to be a Prepare/Enrich facilitator, a SYMBIS facilitator and am trained in EMDR therapy.
As I transitioned from working in the corporate environment to church ministry and to now counseling, I found myself drawn to the idea of journeying with individuals as they discover more about themselves and the transformation process that a relationship with Jesus can bring. I believe that mistaken or misplaced beliefs can hinder a person’s ability to live a more fulfilled life. Thus, if I may assist others in discovering how their emotional responses to events are affected by their thoughts and beliefs, then I believe there are possibilities for significant change and personal growth. This perspective is based upon a cognitive-behavior approach.
Through the ministry experiences I have had thus far, I find myself drawn to working with young adults, couples (both engaged and married) and families. I am hopeful that through schooling, specialized training, and my collective experiences at work and in ministry that I can provide assistance to those seeking career/life guidance and marital or family counseling.
