Orelia Velazquez is under the supervision of Steve Crain, LPC-S. Orelia is a practicum student pursuing her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Houston Christian University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of The Incarnate Word and has gained valuable experience working with children in school settings and behavior therapy. She is fluent in English and in Spanish.
Orelia is passionate about counseling children, young adults, and families facing challenges such as divorce, depression, anxiety, and relational issues. Her therapeutic approach integrates Biblical principles with clinical methods, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and individual counseling. While she values the benefits of incorporating biblical principles in the counseling process, Orelia fully respects the wishes of clients who prefer not to combine these elements. This commitment to honoring clients' beliefs helps foster trust and promote the therapeutic relationship.
In her free time, Orelia enjoys being with family and friends, traveling, dancing, cooking, and photography. She enjoys learning new things and expanding her skill set and education.
