Richard Cozart

Dr. Cozart is a member of several professional counseling associations, including certification with the National Board of Certified Counselors, the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, the Biblical Framework Counselors Association, and is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas. He is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, an international honor society that values academic and professional excellence in counseling. In biblical and theological studies, his research focuses on the use of the Old Testament in the book of Ephesians. In counseling, his interests lie in addressing Christian anxiety and depression. He has served as a Ph.D. joint supervisor with Union Seminary in the United Kingdom, an instructor at The Bible Seminary in Katy, Texas, and a teacher at The Saint Constantine School, a classical institution in Houston, Texas. At College of Biblical Studies Houston, he has taught Bible, theology, pastoral ministry, and counseling courses since 2003. Dr. Cozart is a licensed and ordained minister, and over the years has served in several church staff capacities. He presently is a teacher at a home church in Houston. He is also the Director of Counselor Education at A Future and a Hope Counseling Center associated with Windwood Presbyterian Church in Houston, where he is also a staff counselor. Professor Cozart and his wife, Janet, have been married 38 years and have four children, and one grandchild.
