Gather at The Loop Campus on Sundays at 9:15a, 11a, or 5p either on campus or online at

Pastoral Care, ONLINE

Begins in 18 days 23 hrs 04 min

CanHope ministers to people touched by cancer or other major illnesses and to those who love and care for them.

The purpose of CanHope is to walk alongside individuals and their families while in treatment and beyond. Participants will be offered prayer, friendship, hope and encouragement from someone who has been on similar journey and understands what you are going through while maintaining confidentiality.

CanHope gathers every second Monday of each month In Person and Online. At each meeting there is fellowship, shared testimonies, a guest speaker and prayer. At the end of each meeting, the deacons of HFBC are available for prayer and anointing of anyone who wishes.

Connect with us on our CanHope Facebook. We post different encouraging messages, verses, testimonies and more. To join the CanHope group, click here.

Speaker & Topic

Our special guest speaker will be Vericona Vallone, Associate Counselor, MD Anderson, Department of Palliative, Rehabilitation, and Integrative Medicine.

Veronica Vallone is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Prior to coming to MD Anderson, she worked at Krist Samaritan Center providing spiritually-integrated counseling to individuals, couples, and families.

Since being at MD Anderson, she has worked with patients across several cancer types for different projects (brain cancer patients, colorectal, and breast) with the majority of her time supporting breast cancer patients through the first year following radiation.

She will be speaking on "Facing Fear and Finding Joy."

Prayer Ministry

The Deacons and Pastors will be praying for and anointing those coming for prayer (using Covid Safe Protocols). Please make sure to invite anyone you know who is battling Cancer, Auto Immune Disease or Chronic Illness or their caregiver to join us in person or online.

"Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." James 5:14, CSB

Dear CanHope Friends,

We understand that everyone is in a different place in their health journey. For those who are in a place in their journey where they can attend in person, we will follow the covid guidelines, using the utmost care and precautions.

We will continue to have meetings online as an ongoing part of our CanHope Ministry. It has been a blessing to offer this online to many who would otherwise be unable to meet due to treatments, health concerns, travel distances and scheduling conflicts, etc. We have been blessed to include new friends from other cities and states by being online and we are thankful for this resource.

You will be receiving an invitation for each of our meetings by mail, email and the event posted will be posted on our CanHope Facebook page. For more details of what to expect in person or online please see below. It is also attached in a PDF for quick reference. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone or email.

It is a blessing to journey with each of you.

With Hope,

Sharon Sidwell

COVID-19 Precautions

  • Due to Covid 19 our church will adhere to CDC guidelines regarding social distancing and everyone will be required to wear a mask before and after the meal.
  • We will have a special table for check in with masks available if you do not have one and hand sanitizer.
  • We will also use disposable name tags with special sanitized pens.
  • We will not be hugging or handshaking. We know this is challenging for those of us that are "huggers" but we want to make it a safe space for everyone! We can greet one another with an air "high five", an "air hug" or make a heart with our hands.
