What You Need To Know About The Loop’s New Living Room

The Loop Campus opened in 1977 when Houston’s First moved to what was then the west side of town after being in downtown since 1841. The campus ministry space has been expanded and remodeled numerous times over the past 46 years to better enable our ministry to members, guests, and the community — all thanks to the generosity of our church family.

OUR NEW SPACE

The “front door” of The Loop Campus will be enlarged and enhanced to better greet people as they arrive, and to serve as a welcoming space to gather for small moments or large events.

  • Increase of 5,000 additional interior square feet of additional interior space, and renovation of approximately 14,000 square feet of existing interior space
  • New stairs from Main Foyer to Level 2
  • New restrooms for men and women, and new family restroom
  • New flooring, lighting, and acoustical panels
  • Additional entrance to CornerBooks with relocated coffee service area
  • Two pairs of automatic sliding building entrance doors
  • Outdoor entrance walkway replaced with new pavers
  • Covered awning over entrance walkway
  • Regrading of crosswalk to eliminate curbs on either side of the street between West Parking Lot and entrance walkway
  • Addition of three classrooms on Level 3 above the newly expanded Main Foyer. One classroom will be dedicated for Thru the Roof, and the other two classrooms will be shared by First Kids and First Baptist Academy

All other existing facilities at The Loop Campus will continue operating like normal.

Sunday Entrance & Exit Options

To get into the front of the building on Sunday mornings, you will enter through a hallway adjacent to our Preschool suite.

Preschool

  • By shifting the playground fence slightly, a second entrance via the west side of the building has been constructed allowing entrance via the Preschool suite*. Utilizing a new crosswalk, you can enter from the West Parking Lot, walk down a short hallway, make a left turn, and make your way to the Worship Center or your Life Bible Study classroom this way.

*Safeguarding Note: The safety of our children, youth, and special needs adults remains a top priority at Houston’s First. While this new walkway goes through the Preschool suite, no children will be in the classrooms located off the hallway on Sundays. Additionally, a temporary wall has been constructed and will be manned at all times by a security guard allowing for no entrance from the hallway into the part of the suite that is being used. Sunday Emergency Exit Options

In addition to the above, three additional emergency exit options are available on Sundays via the Reception Room, Room 143, and the Chapel. All of these routes have doors leading to the North Parking Lot.

    Sunday Parking Options

    Our parking lots are remaining relatively untouched throughout this construction process. While we strongly encourage our members to utilize shuttle parking, if you need to park in one of our onsite lots, consider the South Lot your best bet. The West Lot will still be used for first-time guest parking, so leave those spaces empty for our new friends.

    Sunday Morning Offsite Parking

    Looking for an easy way to get inside the building all while serving the church? Consider offsite parking. Now more than ever, the simple act of making room for more people to attend our church is one of the most impactful ways you can help spread the Gospel message. Beat the heat, the traffic, and the construction woes with this easy solution.

    Marq*E Entertainment Center

    • Located across I-10 from Houston's First
    • Available levels may change — following the signs accordingly!
    • Board the shuttle by designated "Shuttle Stop" signage between the garage and the back side of the entertainment center
    • Shuttles run from 6:30a to 2p
    • Shuttles drop off and pick up at the Garden Room entrance

    701 N. Post Oak (Lafayette Garage)

    • Located behind the 701 N. Post Oak office building
    • Park on either the lower or upper levels, except in "No Parking" areas
    • Walk to the church across the South Parking Lot

    Forum Garage

    • Located behind The Forum tower (to the left of The Forum on the map above)
    • Park on only the roof
    • Exit the garage using the stairs or elevator facing The Forum tower
