Do I have to be a member of Houston’s First Baptist Church to be married here?

Yes. Couples who have formal membership status may submit an application (i.e. the Bride or the Groom must have an active formal membership for a minimum of one year prior to the wedding date).

How far in advance should I schedule my wedding?

Couples may schedule as early as one year in advance but at least 90 days in advance of the wedding date. (Weddings in the Worship Center must be scheduled at least 6 months in advance of the wedding date.)

Can I request a minister from another church?

Yes, but all ministers must be of like faith and approved by our staff.

Is the Houston's First pre-marital counseling required?

Yes. All portions of the Preparation for Marriage Program (PMP) should be completed 30 days before the wedding date.

Why do I need a church wedding coordinator?

The church coordinator will help you understand church policies, review services available to you, and direct both your rehearsal and the day of the wedding.

How much does it cost to have a wedding at Houston's First?

There is no charge for building usage, but personnel fees will apply along with wedding furniture rental.

Does the church have wedding packages that are all-inclusive?

No, the church does not provide floral, photography or wedding cake services. Wedding costs are quoted according to your specific ceremony plans.

Are there any moral restrictions or requirements to having a wedding at Houston's First?

Yes, our church stands for Christian marriage between one man and one woman and expects couples to live separately in a mature Christian dating relationship until married. Click here for more information.

Can I have my reception at the church, too?

Yes, we have several rooms that may be used for wedding receptions and our Culinary Services department is equipped to provide full service catering.
